Oh My Universe!

Greetings my stellar friends, and a happy Witchy Wednesday summer evening to you! I had the distinct feeling upon waking this morning that I should use Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot Deck to draw a card to write about, and that lovely card is pictured above!

This card is the very last card of the great soul journey of the Major Arcana. The Universe card, The World card in the Rider-Waite tarot, signifies a glorious ending that leaves the journeymen right at the ledge they once began at as The Fool. The Universe card connects to the energy of Saturn, and in the Thoth Deck guidebook, the cards keywords include completion, cosmic union, and burning off karma.

​The planet Saturn is currently under the sign of Sagittarius, having been there since December 2014 and continuing its transit through December 2017. Saturn is the conductor of energy taking form, it holds things together, and it also holds the key to our own karmic understanding. Saturn brings chaos into order and it makes sense of things that seem disparate. Although it is seemingly rigid, Saturn desires for us all to regain our power through understanding our pain.

Sagittarius could not be more unlike Saturn. Sagittarius wants freedom to go wherever passion drives, and soars like a flaming arrow throughout space and time. The constraints that are implicated by Saturn are like a pressure cooker for Sagittarius, causing outbursts of passion and emotion along the way of this transit.

During the time Saturn is in Sagittarius, this could either influence you to be so fed up with what is expected of you, your commitments, routines, responsibilities etc., to the point where you become over indulgent with alcohol, rich foods, and stimulants as a way of comforting the part of you that wants freedom.

Similarly if you've been feeling as though you always stick to your routine, you are responsible and not over indulgent, you do everything by the book, your inner adventurer has probably been wanting freedom. So this transit could present you with new opportunities for bringing travel and excitement into your life.

Currently, the buzzing planet Mercury is in the sign of Leo, and it aspects trine Saturn in Sagittarius. I believe this connection between fire signs is an important transit that connects with the card I have pulled for today, and now I would like to dive more deeply into The Universe.

The Universe:

This card arrives to address our thoughts surrounding cosmic oneness. The Universe is the end of the journey that was initiated by The Fool. This card is here today because in some facet of all of our individual experiences, something is ending, and something new is beginning.

Look at the woman on this card, as the handbook states, "The nude woman dances the dance of liberation." The time has come to end some cycle and liberate yourself. Once your awareness to your connection with all of the universe is initiated, the journey has begun, meaning your journey to this beginning is ending. This is the presence of Saturn that connects with this card, and it arrives to assist you in burning away all that no longer serves you.

This is a time to look at things for what they really are, to review the sections of your life with inspired scrutiny, and use the energy of fiery Sagittarius to address what gives you true happiness and passion, and to eliminate that which is holding you back. The transit of Mercury Trine Saturn heralds a time of important decision making, and implicates that whatever you set your mind you, you will experience seious results.

Both Saturn and Mercury are in fire signs, and I believe this amplifies my last statement threefold. We are in Leo season, a time of magical burning manifestation, and our connection with the forces of all of creation through the universe fuel us with a great power. We have the power to choose. If you choose to focus your thoughts on loss, deficit, debt, fear, etc, so is this amplified and experiences connecting to those feelings will appear in your life.

So today, The Universe comes to you asking you one simple question: what will happen if you choose differently?


The power is yours, to choose the life you want. Too good to be true? This time it's not, not even one little bit. All of creation is waiting for you to say "I am ready!"
